Community Guidelines
A private group works best when every member protects consent, dignity, and personal boundaries.
Share with intention
Only share journal or Grateful Moment entries you are comfortable showing to every active member of the selected group. Shared Within never automatically publishes your private journal, check-ins, therapist care chat, or other groups. You may remove your shared post later, but another member may have already seen or retained it.
Respect privacy and consent
- Do not copy, screenshot, record, forward, or repeat another member’s content without clear permission.
- Do not disclose another person’s identity, health information, location, contact details, or private circumstances.
- Do not pressure anyone to share, explain, respond, forgive, or remain in a group.
Support without diagnosing
Respond with care and humility. You may share your own experience, encouragement, or practical support. Do not diagnose, prescribe treatment, claim guaranteed outcomes, or present a group response as professional care.
Therapists in groups
A therapist may join, moderate, or own a group. A verified badge identifies an approved professional account, but group participation is separate from a therapist-client connection. It does not create a professional relationship, expand journal access, provide clinical monitoring, or guarantee a response. A therapist sees only content deliberately shared to the group unless a separate care connection and entry-specific sharing choice also apply.
Prohibited conduct
Do not post or encourage harassment, threats, stalking, hate or discrimination, sexual exploitation, content involving minors, self-harm instructions, violence, illegal activity, scams, spam, impersonation, malware, credential theft, or unauthorized private information. Do not exploit a care, professional, financial, or power relationship.
Invitations and membership
Invitations are private, expire, and are intended for a trusted person. New members require the approval method selected by the group. Do not publish invitation codes or attempt to enter a group without genuine permission. Groups are limited to 15 active members in this release.
Reporting, blocking, and moderation
Use the in-app report option for concerning groups, posts, comments, messages, or members. You may block a person to hide content between you, mute a group, remove your own shared post, or leave a group. Owners and moderators manage membership; authorized Oasis Within administrators may review limited report details and remove content, restrict groups, or take account action. Reporting is not an emergency alert and does not guarantee a particular outcome or response time.
Not for emergencies
Shared Within and group chat are not continuously monitored, clinical, crisis, or emergency services. If someone may be in immediate danger, contact local emergency services. In the United States, call or text 988 for the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
