Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Oasis Within handles information across private journaling, connected care, therapist scheduling, optional AI tools, Shared Within, and Oasis Uplift.
1. Scope and operator
This Privacy Policy applies to the Oasis Within mobile application, oasiswithin.com, support and administrator tools, and related services operated by Seleqt Group LLC (“Oasis Within,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
2. Information we collect
Account and profile information
We may collect your name or display name, email address, account role, profile photo and visibility choice, authentication records, device security preferences, notification settings, and account status.
Journal, mood, and reflection information
We process journal entries, titles, prompts, mood check-ins, intensity and need selections, saved reflections, carry-forward items, session-preparation content, and sharing choices that you create or request.
Therapist collaboration and scheduling
For connected care, we may process invitation codes, connection status, deliberately shared journals or mood information, therapist comments, care-chat messages, between-session focus items, unread status, reports, blocks, professional verification details, availability rules, appointments, notes, location details, reminders, and calendar-sync records.
Shared Within and Oasis Uplift
We process invitation-only group membership, posts, comments, reactions, messages, reports, blocks, and moderation status for Shared Within. If you separately opt into Oasis Uplift, we process your unique public handle, optional public bio and profile image, public posts and media, follows, appreciations, comments, reshares, feed progress, reports, mutes, blocks, and moderation status.
AI feature information
When you enable and request an AI feature, we process the content needed for that request, such as a selected journal entry, recent shared entries, mood check-ins, or carry-forward items. We also maintain consent settings, usage records, and saved outputs when you choose to store them.
Technical, support, and billing information
We may collect device and app information, push tokens, log and security data, support messages and attachments, subscription status, Stripe customer or subscription identifiers, billing events, and transaction status. Payment-card information is handled by the payment provider and is not stored directly by Oasis Within.
3. How we use information
- Provide, personalize, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the service.
- Save journals, reflections, schedules, group activity, public Uplift activity, and account preferences.
- Enable connection-based sharing and communication with a therapist.
- Generate an AI output only after an eligible user requests the feature.
- Deliver appointment, message, comment, journal, group, and public-activity notifications you enable.
- Process scheduling subscriptions, support requests, safety reports, and account requests.
- Prevent fraud, abuse, unauthorized access, and violations of our terms.
- Comply with legal obligations and protect users, professionals, and the service.
4. Encryption and security
Journal titles and text, journal prompts, therapist journal comments, therapist-client care messages, and report snapshots use application-layer encryption at rest. Decryption is limited by account and connection access rules. We also use encrypted network transport and other administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards.
This is not end-to-end encryption. Authorized service functions may decrypt content after access checks when needed to display it to an authorized user, process a user-requested AI feature, create a report snapshot, or perform another requested service. No system can guarantee absolute security.
5. Sharing and professional access
Journal entries are not automatically shared with a therapist. A therapist may access an entry only when you explicitly share it and an active therapist connection exists. Separate controls may govern mood sharing. Therapist comments intended for you and care-chat messages are visible within the applicable active connection.
Therapists are independently responsible for their professional, legal, ethical, documentation, and security obligations. Oasis Uplift is separate from therapist connections: public posts are visible according to the Uplift feature rules, while private journals and care content never become public automatically.
6. AI processing
AI features are optional. We send only the information needed to fulfill the request to the configured AI service provider. AI outputs may be inaccurate and are not medical, mental-health, legal, or emergency advice. Your AI consent and output-storage settings control whether eligible AI functions may run and whether results are saved where the product provides that choice.
Grateful Moments, private media, and Shared Within
Grateful Moments use the same private journal protections as other entries. Photos and videos are stored in a private bucket and inherit the sharing choices of their parent entry; an attachment is not shared independently.
Shared Within is invitation-only and adults-only in this release. Active group members can see entries, attachments, comments, reactions, and chat deliberately shared to that group. A therapist may join, moderate, or own a group, but that role does not grant access to private journals, check-ins, care chat, or therapist connections. Authors can remove shared posts, and members can report, block, mute, and leave. Authorized administrators may review limited report details and content snapshots for safety and policy enforcement.
Oasis Uplift is optional, adults-only, and public. Joining requires a separate opt-in and a unique public handle. Public posts may include text, a photo, or a video and may be appreciated, commented on, reshared, followed, reported, muted, or blocked. Your private journal is never published automatically. Feed progress is saved so you can resume where you left off.
7. Service providers and disclosures
We may disclose information to service providers that support hosting, authentication, database storage, application infrastructure, notifications, AI processing, email, support, analytics configured by the administrator, payment processing, and app distribution. They may use information only to provide contracted services, subject to their agreements and applicable law.
We may also disclose information when required by law; to protect rights, safety, and security; in connection with a corporate transaction; or with your direction or consent. We do not sell personal information to advertisers.
8. Retention
We retain information for as long as needed to provide the service, maintain account and safety records, meet legal and financial obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Retention differs by data type. Account deletion may not immediately remove information from backups, legally required records, fraud-prevention records, or information another user or professional must retain independently.
9. Your choices and rights
Depending on your location and account features, you may review or change profile, sharing, AI, notification, security, scheduling, public-handle, follow, and visibility settings; export eligible account information; disconnect a professional; block, mute, unfollow, or report a user; or request account deletion. You may also contact us to request access, correction, deletion, or another applicable privacy right.
10. Device calendars and notifications
Calendar sync is optional and uses calendar permissions on your device. Oasis Within creates privacy-conscious calendar events and stores identifiers needed to update or remove those events. Push notifications are optional; notification content is designed to limit sensitive detail, but notification previews may be visible on your device according to its settings.
11. Children
Oasis Within is not directed to children under 13. Additional age, parental-consent, or professional requirements may apply depending on location and use. Do not create an account for a person who cannot lawfully consent unless an authorized workflow expressly permits it.
12. International processing
Information may be processed in the United States and other locations where our providers operate. Applicable safeguards may vary by jurisdiction.
13. Wellness and emergency limitations
Oasis Within is a wellness, reflection, community, and scheduling service—not an emergency service or continuous monitoring system. It does not guarantee detection of crisis language, health risks, or harmful public content before it is viewed. In the United States, call or text 988 for the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. If there is immediate danger, call 911 or seek appropriate emergency assistance.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service changes. We will post the revised version with a new effective date and provide additional notice when appropriate.
